Install guide
Apps from outside the Play Store need one extra permission. Pick your device and follow the steps.
Google TV
Chromecast with Google TV, and Sony, TCL, Hisense, Philips TVs with Google TV.
Install Downloader
On the TV's home screen, open the Google Play Store (or Search), look for Downloader and install Downloader by AFTVnews. It's free and made for exactly this.
Turn on developer mode
Open Settings → System → About. Scroll to Android TV OS build and press OK on it 7 times, until you see “You are now a developer”.
Allow Downloader to install apps
Go back to Settings → Apps → Security & restrictions → Unknown sources and turn on Downloader.
Download the app
Open Downloader, select the address box and type apps.perfectcircle.site/toons.apk then press Go. The download takes a few seconds.
Install it
When Android asks “Do you want to install this application?”, choose Install, then Open. If Downloader offers to delete the file, choose Delete: the app stays installed.
Enter your code
The app asks for your activation code once. Type it with the remote; the dashes are added for you.
Menu names differ a little between brands. Can't find Unknown sources? Start the download in Downloader anyway: Android shows a Settings button that takes you straight to the right switch.
Android TV
Older Android TVs and boxes: Mi Box, Nvidia Shield, older Sony Bravia, TCL…

Fire TV

Install Downloader
From the home screen choose Find → Search, type Downloader and install it (free).
Show developer options
Open Settings → My Fire TV → About and select your Fire TV's name 7 times, until you see “You are now a developer”. Skip this if you already see Developer options.
Allow Downloader to install apps
Open Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options → Install unknown apps and turn on Downloader.
Download the app
Open Downloader, select the address box and type apps.perfectcircle.site/toons.apk then press Go. The download takes a few seconds.
Install it

On Fire TV, new apps appear under Your Apps & Channels (the icon with three squares on the home screen). Hold the Menu button on the app to move it to the front.
Android phone or tablet
Android 6.0 or newer. The apps work in landscape, with touch.
Download
Open this site in Chrome on your phone, go to the app's page and tap Download APK.
Keep the file
Chrome may warn that this type of file can harm your device. That message appears for every app outside the Play Store: tap Download anyway.
Open it
Tap Open when the download finishes, or find the file in Downloads.
Allow this source
Android says your phone isn't allowed to install unknown apps from this source: tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back.
Install
Tap Install. If Google Play Protect says the app comes from an unknown developer, tap More details → Install anyway. Google simply doesn't know apps that aren't in its store.

Other ways
From your phone to the TV
Install Send Files to TV (free on Google Play) on the phone and on the TV. Download the APK on the phone, send it to the TV, and open it there.
With a USB stick
Copy the APK to a USB stick on a computer, plug it into the TV, and open it with a file manager app such as File Commander or X-plore.
With the TV's browser
Some Android boxes have a web browser: open apps.perfectcircle.site and download from the app's page.
Updating
When a new version is out, the app tells you. Install it exactly the same way (same address): it installs over the old version and keeps your list, progress and code.
After installing
You can turn the Unknown sources switch for Downloader back off. The app keeps working.
Is it safe?
Download only from this site
The only official address is apps.perfectcircle.site. Never install these apps from another site, or from a file someone sends you.
Signed releases
Every version is signed with the same private key, which never leaves our computer. Android refuses to install an update signed with a different key, so nobody can swap your app for a fake. The certificate fingerprint is shown on each app's page.
Check the file
Each app page lists the APK's SHA-256. On a computer run sha256sum toons.apk (Linux, Mac) or certutil -hashfile toons.apk SHA256 (Windows): the result must match exactly.
Minimal permissions
The apps only use the Internet permission. No access to your files, camera, microphone, contacts or location. No account, no ads, no tracking.
Private activation
Activating downloads a small signed license file named after a hash of your code. Your name, email or phone number is never sent.
We never ask for passwords
No app will ever ask for a password or bank details. If something does, it isn't ours.
